India has an astonishingly wide diversity of flora and fauna. It is home to the Asiatic Lion, Bengal Tiger, Black Leopard, Panther, Cheetah, Fox, Sloth Bear, Crocodile, One Horned Indian Rhinoceros, Camel, Monkey, Snakes, Mighty Asian Elephant, Cows, Goats, Poultry and a lot of other animals. As a habitat to a number of rare and endangered animal species, wildlife management in India is extremely mandatory.

There are numerous wildlife sanctuaries and National parks in India. Here are a few popular wildlife destinations in India:

Corbett National Park, Uttaranchal



The oldest National Park in Asia and one of the most sought after wildlife tourist destinations in India. The park is dedicated to the writer Jim Corbett.

Timings: The park remains open from mid-November to mid June.

Bandhavgarh National Park, Madhya Pradesh



It's one of the most visited national parks in India. It has the maximum number of tigers than any other wildlife sanctuary in India.
Timings: The park remains open from October to March and May to June. It remains closed between July and September.

Kaziranga National Park, Assam



It is the home of the One Horned India Rhinoceros and variety of other wildlife. It is located in Nagaon and Golaghat Districts of Assam.

Timings: The park remains open from November to April and partially open in the months of October and May. It remains closed from June to September.

Bandipur Wildlife Sanctuary Karnataka



The habitat of Asian Elephants. This sanctuary is one of the most beautiful sanctuaries in India.

Timings: The park remains open all year round.

Ranthambore National Park, Rajasthan



One of the most popular national parks in India. It is situated at a distance of 30 km from Jaipur in the Sawai Madhopur District of South-East Rajasthan.

Timings: The park remains closed from July to August.




Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh



This Park has the credit of saving the nearly extinct species of Swamp Deer. Highlight of the Kanha National Park is the Bamni Dadar also known as the Sunset Point.

Timings: The park remains closed from July to September.

Keoladeo Ghana National Park, Rajasthan



Popularly known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. This park has lots of birds particularly during winters.

Timings: The park remains open throughout the year.

Gir National Park & Wildlife Sanctuary, Gujarat



The only place that has Asiatic Lion. There are lots of rivers, rocky hills and deep ravines.

Timings: The Park is open from mid-October to mid-June.
